How to do overhead dumbbell tricep extension

Coach's Tips

This exercise focuses on engaging your triceps by lifting a dumbbell overhead. Ensure your elbows remain stationary during the movement!

Start Position

1. Keep your elbows tucked to your sides throughout the exercise.

2. Maintain a straight back and engage your core.

3. Avoid locking your elbows at the peak of the movement.

Proper Form

1. With elbows near your body, slowly extend your arms and press the dumbbells overhead.

2. Pause for a brief moment at the top, then gently return the dumbbells to the initial position.

Breathing Technique

1. Breathe in as you lower the dumbbells.

2. Breathe out as you lift the dumbbells upwards.

Precautions

1. Stand with feet hip-width apart while holding a dumbbell in each hand.

2. Bend your elbows to bring the dumbbells to shoulder level.

3. Keep elbows close to your sides, with palms facing each other.
