This exercise is believed to have originated from military training in Russia to enhance core strength. If you're new to the movement, try keeping your feet planted on the ground!
1. Sit on the ground with your knees bent and feet flat on the floor.
2. Lean slightly back at a 45-degree angle while engaging your core muscles.
3. Extend your arms straight out in front of you, keeping them parallel to the floor.
1. Rotate your torso to one side, moving your arms along with your body.
2. Pause briefly, then rotate to the opposite side.
3. Continue the movement, alternating sides.
1. Breathe out as you twist to the side and briefly hold your breath when pausing.
2. Breathe in as you return to the center.
1. Ensure your back remains straight and your core is engaged during the entire exercise.
2. Keep your arms from lowering below your chest level.
3. Move slowly and with control to avoid injury.
