Perform the side step-up whilst holding dumbbells.
1. Stand facing a step or box, gripping a dumbbell in each hand.
2. Keep your feet at hip-width distance with toes pointing straight ahead.
3. Ensure your shoulders are back, and your chest is raised.
1. Using your right foot, step onto the box, focusing the weight on your heel.
2. Push through your heel to elevate your body, bringing your left foot up behind your right foot.
3. Descend with the left foot first, followed by the right foot.
4. Repeat the action using the opposite leg.
1. Exhale as you push through your heel to raise your body.
2. Inhale as you lower back down.
1. Maintain a straight back and elevated chest during the exercise.
2. Avoid using your toes to help lift your body.
3. Keep the dumbbells close to your body, preventing them from swinging.
