Coach's Tips

Maintain tension as you lower yourself slowly.

Start Position

1. Lie on a flat bench with your feet positioned firmly on the floor.

2. Cross your arms over your chest and place your hands on your shoulders.

Proper Form

1. Start by elevating your upper body until your back is nearly vertical to the bench.

2. As you lift your body, rotate your torso to the right, then return to the initial position.

3. Repeat, rotating to the left as you lift your body.

4. Continue switching sides for the required number of repetitions.

Breathing Technique

1. Breathe out while turning and lifting your upper body.

2. Breathe in when returning to the original position.

Precautions

1. Engage your core muscles during the exercise to safeguard your lower back.

2. Avoid arching your back while lifting, and keep your back pressed steadily against the bench.

3. Move slowly, concentrating on using your abdominal muscles to manage the motion.
