How to do seated dumbbell drag curl

Coach's Tips

Perform the drag curl exercise while seated with dumbbells.

Start Position

1. Ensure you maintain proper form for the entire duration.

2. Avoid swinging the dumbbells or relying on momentum for the curl.

3. Do not choose weights that are too heavy for your level.

Proper Form

1. Keep your elbows close to your sides and drag the dumbbells up by curling your arms slowly.

2. Concentrate on using your biceps as you lift the dumbbells.

3. At the peak of the curl, pause briefly and contract your biceps.

4. Gradually return the dumbbells to the starting position.

Breathing Technique

1. Inhale as you initiate the curl and exhale upon completion.

2. Exhale while maintaining the position at the top of the curl and squeezing your biceps.

Precautions

1. Sit on a bench with your feet firmly planted on the floor.

2. Hold a dumbbell in each hand, keeping your arms extended.

3. Your palms should be facing each other.

4. Maintain a straight back and keep your chest elevated.
