How to do calf raise machine

Coach's Tips

This is a machine-based exercise aimed at targeting and strengthening the calf muscles by adding resistance.

Start Position

1. Set the machine to match your height. Stand with your feet at hip-width, toes facing forward, and grip the side handles.

2. Maintain a relaxed shoulder posture, keep your back straight, and your chest lifted.

3. Elevate your heels off the platform, balancing on your toes.

Proper Form

1. Gradually lower your heels by flexing your ankles and activating your calves.

2. Keep a slight bend in your knees throughout the movement.

3. Hold the position momentarily when your calves are fully extended.

4. Press through your toes and contract your calves to lift your heels off the platform.

5. Repeat, ensuring controlled movements throughout.

Breathing Technique

1. Breathe in as you lower your heels and breathe out as you elevate them.

Precautions

1. Ensure your back remains straight without arching during the exercise.

2. Avoid swinging your body or using momentum to lift the weights.

3. Do not lock your knees at the peak of the movement.

4. Prevent your heels from resting on the platform when lowering.
