How to do lat pulldown

Coach's Tips

In this workout, pull the bar towards the back of your head. It's excellent for sculpting a defined back!

Start Position

1. Take a seat on the lat pulldown machine, ensuring your feet are flat on the ground and your knees are bent.

2. Reach overhead and grasp the bar with an overhand grip, slightly wider than shoulder-width.

3. Lean back just a bit, engaging your core while keeping your back straight.

Proper Form

1. With straight arms, gradually pull the bar down toward your chest.

2. As you bring the bar down, squeeze your shoulder blades together.

3. Pause when the bar meets your chest, then slowly return to the initial position.

Breathing Technique

1. Inhale deeply while pulling the bar down.

2. Exhale as you return to the initial position.

Precautions

1. Refrain from jerky or forceful pulling of the bar.

2. Avoid leaning too far back or arching your back.

3. Don't rely on momentum to bring the bar down.
