How to do band bench press

Coach's Tips

Perform the bench press using a resistance band.

Start Position

1. Sit on a bench and loop a resistance band around it with your back supported against the bench.

2. Keep your feet flat on the ground, about shoulder-width apart.

3. Hold the resistance band with both hands and extend your arms to the sides, making a 'T' shape.

Proper Form

1. Breathe in and bend your elbows, moving the band towards your chest while maintaining elbows close to your sides.

2. Pause briefly, engaging your chest muscles.

3. Breathe out and extend your arms back to the original position, keeping your elbows close.

Breathing Technique

1. Inhale while bringing the band towards your chest.

2. Exhale as you push your arms back to the start position.

Precautions

1. Ensure elbows stay close to your body during the exercise.

2. Avoid overextending your elbows to prevent strain.

3. Refrain from locking your elbows at the end of the motion.
