How to do dumbbell zottman curl

Coach's Tips

Perform the Zottman curl exercise using dumbbells.

Start Position

1. Refrain from swinging your body during the movement.

2. Avoid using momentum to raise the dumbbells.

3. Keep from locking your elbows at the peak of the exercise.

4. Maintain a neutral spine without arching your back.

Proper Form

1. As you exhale, curl the dumbbells upward towards your shoulders.

2. Hold the top position and contract your biceps briefly before gradually lowering the weights back to the beginning.

3. Keep your elbows close to your torso during the entire exercise.

Breathing Technique

1. Exhale when bringing the dumbbells upward.

2. Inhale as you lower the dumbbells.

Precautions

1. Stand tall, grip a dumbbell in each hand, with palms facing one another.

2. Hold your arms at a 45-degree angle to your torso, so your upper arms are parallel to the ground and your forearms are vertical.

3. Stabilize your elbows near your body for the duration of the exercise.
